I don't think Rob Ford had anything to do with it. Toronto, like any major city in the world, has enough variety of things to see and do to entertain anyone for a week. Our best wishes to Mr. Ford who is dealing with a malignant soft tissue tumor.

Under EU Law the Government of a country can not subsidise a private venture. That would produce unfair competition. Like if Ford were given a Government subsidy, but not to another car producer. But the Government can act as a Guarantor to promise repayment if the venture fails. The EU does however give money to Countries with high unemployment to build factories that produce goods. Like in Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria - old eastern block countries. Then the new factory owner - an...

Thanks! Not only a bunch of good ideas, but also revived memories of years ago, traveling with our 4 kids in an undersized Ford Fairmont station wagon. We joke that we had to stop every half hour to let the hostility out, but the truth is that an assortment of fruit, nuts, songs and especially games made it work. The games includes not just alphabet and license plate spotting, but free-range imagination games such as "I'm going abroad, and with me I am taking..."
