Body Scanners now can be mandatory if TSA deems it necessary

According to SlashGear, the Department of Homeland Security quietly added a clause which allows TSA officers to insist travelers go through body scanning machines and quotes the following from the DHS:

"TSA is updating the AIT PIA to reflect a change to the operating protocol regarding the ability of individuals to opt opt-out of AIT screening in favor of physical screening," "While passengers may generally decline AIT screening in favor of physical screening, TSA may direct mandatory AIT screening for some passengers."

 Before passengers were allowed to opt out of the body scanners and take the pat down instead.
