Do Pets lower Travelers' Stress?

I'm a lover of small fuzzy animals, especially dogs (and select cats).  No question in my mind that being around them reduces my stress and puts a smile on my face.

Four Canadian airports, including one in northern Alberta's Fort McMurray (up in oil country) have introduced pet-therapy dogs for passengers to interact with.  Dogs will be stationed around the airport at select times during summer months.

My worst flight ever....

The guy behind me had 2 longhaired cats in a cage under my seat.

Kept bringing each one out for a good scratch.

You could see the stray hairs floating in the air.

Sneeze....Sneeze....

But you're alternative sounds like a great idea !!

Agree about pets on the plane -- with rare exception they don't belong there.  The idea here is that these animals are scattered around the airport to provide folks with a point of stress relief. I sure we'll hear more about the program in the coming months.
