Actually, I think the banks have a fairly minimal (as small as I can make it) impact on my currency transactions, in part because I never deal with exchanges; I use bank ATMs. That way, the exchange takes place not on my account, but as an interbank transaction at the base rate banks use with each other. Been to this restaurant...loved it! Great home made food, great service, good portions and reasonable prices. Not to mention going there is a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle from the huge Vegas casinos. The next time I'm in Las Vegas, I will definitely be going back there. Thanks DrF. I can remember Lee Marvin as the angry young man - so it must have been a few years ago. The heat of summer in Vegas is just not nice. Must be what's meant by a "Seasoned Traveller" When we go at just the right time of year. Like the word "Posh" Port Out - Starboard Home To keep a cool cabin on a round trip to India on the sea. If you'd like to really drive yourself crazy, search "wooden piers southern california" then on the result page click on "images" at the top. Not to say definitively it's so. CA but it's as good a place as any to start.

The best burger of my life was at a food court, a very nice one to be sure, at an upscale mall in Roseville, CA, near Sacramento, possibly the last place on earth one might expect a spectacular anything, but there you have it. I wasn't even there by choice, accompanied a mall-going friend. And I almost never eat burgers, it was just my lucky day. I'd like to go again but I'm afraid to find out it may have been a once-in-a-lifetime score.

It reminds me that the thing, technology, that we think is making us great, is setting us up for extinction. That effort, compared to digital, what wimps we are. Including me, from my Rollei SLX to the camera I use for pictures here, the size of a pack of cigarettes. I'd be in much better shape if I hadn't put down the Rollei.
