Very cool! As I contemplate getting my own bike back on the road, hills are one of the issues (aside from traffic) and I've even thought about one of these...great way to get around a city that's bicycle-friendly... I found a picture...they're like regular bikes, it seems, not like a Vespa, so probably easier to park, too.

I saw these electric bikes all over Tokyo and they are growing on me. Also, I've noticed foldable bikes everywhere I'm going. I'm wondering if we will big numbers of people packing those for travel in the near future.

Given the weight and size restrictions on luggage, I think it’s more likely that we’ll see these for rent in a lot more places, rather than people taking their own along. Folding sounds nice…you can just take it to your room at night. Electric folding would be even better!

Sometimes it's the things we see the most that we miss when they are "out of context" or are the least part of it. In this case, I think that looking at the tower, you're likely to notice the height, the gentle curves, the open spaces...but not the cluster at the top. I had certainly never looked at it before I took that picture, which was an extreme telephoto grab as we threaded our way through the crowd on our way to dinner. I showed it to my wife, and she said "I know what you're going to...

Re: The Vancouver Lookout Tower at Harbour Centre

DrFumblefinger ·
As many times as I've visited Vancouver, I've never been to the top of this tower. Will have to make a point of doing so when I'm next there on a clear day. Vancouver is perhaps the most beautiful city in the world (I know, many places are), but the setting is absolutely magnificent. Sadly, it's been overpopulated and is now one of the most expensive cities in North America. But it still is lovely, as your blog so clearly shows. Thanks, Samantha!

So glad that you and Gene had a good time. Vancouver is a beautiful city but as the good Doctor mentioned it has become overpopulated and expensive. Looks like you had some very nice weather though. Dining in the tower is a great way to enjoy the view. The last time I did that was in the early 80s. Happy belated Anniversary as well.
