I must say again an impressive sharing from DrFumblefinger’s side. I really like to read your published blog posts. Moreover your collection of photographs that you have shared with us is amazing. I love such kind of natural spots to see the beauty of this world. I will be free after my seaworld adventure parks I would like to go there and capture the sights of this region in my own camera.
Visited the city as a port stop 28 January 2003. Cloudy when we arrived but soon the rain pounded us. Here's a pic of the maid's room in the Museo Regional Braun Menedez. A really outstanding lunch was at the Hotel Jose Nogueira's La Pergola restaurant while the rain showered its glass roof.
A cruise is my idea of a nightmare. I avoid boat journeys wherever possible - I have been known to take lengthy and rather circuitous plane rides to avoid having to go on a ferry. You know what they say about sea-sickness: "At first you feel you are going to die, but then it gets worse - you realise that you will not!"
DrFumblefinger explores Lapataia Bay. The southern end of the PanAm highway is located here, and the Bay is within a stone's throw of the Chilean/Argentinian border, a border that has long been disputed.
Puerto Natales is a small town in the Patagonian region of Chile. Formerly a sheep-ranching town, it's now a gateway to Torres del Paine park, as well as to the giant sloth caves in the region. It's small, but has a lot of colorful art.
Walking through this town in desert steppe of Patagonia, in the rain-shadow of the Andes, we came across this beautiful car "showcased" on a hotel's grounds. It's obviously a Ford but can someone help me figure out what year and model it is?
Really, Torres Del Paine one of the most famous national parks in the world, could become one of the best experiences in Chile. The famous W Trek in Torres Del Paine is the perfect destination for the adventurous traveller. I have almost finished 1 month trip in Chile with my family by the help of chiletourpatagonia.com . Really this place is so beautiful and attractive that was beyond my expectation. It was a memorable and adventures tour for us. It is a one of the best place for photographer.
Situated on Chile's southern coast, just north of Tierra del Fuego, the small city of Puenta Arenas is well off the main tourist paths in South America. But it has a world class chocolate shop! Take a look.
I always had the impression that guanacos were not that common an animal in South America. Yes, they were there, but like the Andean Condor you'd have to be lucky to see one. As I learned this past month, that impression was totally wrong.
