London development plans "sky pool"

A development in London (near the former Battersea power station) is planning a "sky pool". It will be a 25 meter swimming pool suspended between two buildings. It will be 10 floors up with only 20cm of glass at the bottom. Flats will cost from £602,000 and will be available in 2018.

The  property developer of this project is Ballymore Group and their CEO, Sean Mulryan said this in a press release:

"The experience of the pool will be truly unique; it will feel like floating through the air in central London"

I suspect it's going to look quite a bit different "as built," since I notice that in the picture, the water runs right to the edge, and one side hasn't even a place to sit! By the time it's done, there will need to be an ugly wall to keep bathers in, and keep water from splashing pedestrians below.

At ten stories above building walks and parking lots, I'm not sure the view down through the pool will be worth it, either.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
