EasyJet pulling seats over crew shortage

European discount airline EasyJet is removing a six-seat row of seats from its smaller planes because it's short of cabin staff.

One cabin crew member per every 50 passengers is required by the EU's Air Navigation Orders. By removing the six seats from its 156-seat A319s, the airline will be able to operate with three flight attendants instead of four.

The airline says the option is better than dropping thirty flights a day because of crew shortages. The situation only affects the smaller planes, because the larger 180 and 235 seat planes would have to remove too many seats. EasyJet says it hopes to be back to 2019 levels of flying this summer.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
