World Architecture Festival: New reason to travel

If you're a fan of architecture and your bucket list of travel destinations is running low, here's a new list for you to consider: the buildings and sites that have just won prizes at the World Architecture Festival, held earlier this month in Singapore.

The building above, called Interlace, is this year's World Building of the Year winner, just happens to be in Singapore as well, but the rest of the prizes were distributed far and wide. Landscape of the year went to a park in Yanweizhou, China; the small project prize went to Lidingovallen, Sweden, and more.

There's even an award for a building that doesn't exist yet; the Future Project of the Year Award went to the planned Vancouver House project in Canada. For more pictures, and all the awards, click HERE for the Festival's official award site.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
