Where in the World is TravelGumbo (#178)

Gumbo has left the covered bridges and maple trees of Quebec and has gone on a far journey.  This journey takes him to a very popular town (note: a town, not a city).  It is from this town that Gumbo walks on the path seen in these photo clues to our destination of interest.  We can't see our destination yet but it is near by and this is that path one takes to get there.

Progressively revealing (and easier) clues will be forthcoming daily to help you solve the puzzle...Keep checking in, observing, suggesting, reading and commenting along with your fellow readers.

We need you to identify the historic site Gumbo's going to be visiting,  Good luck!

THE RULES

  1. Share your suggestions, hints, observations and discussions with others by posting them here as comments...
  2. If you absolutely know what and where it is....please give others some time to work on it  before you pounce.  Email us your answer to suggestions@travelgumbo.com.  We acknowledge everyone who correctly answers the puzzle when the "reveal" is posted on Monday in the order these answers are received.
  3. To leave a comment, you need to be a member...but that's free and easy.  Just click HERE

So,  where is Gumbo visiting?  Please be as specific as possible.

This is a tough one. It looks like a National Park in the US, but as we know from TG there are a lot of them . Still unsure of  even that fact and if it was a park in US, we still don't know where in the park Gumbo's going.  I thought I saw a cemetery in one of the pics.  I'll have to wait for more clues.

If you want a thing done, ask a busy man.

Time for some more clues.  Besides the water on the hill, our also has an interior attraction. There are two entrances to this interior attraction.  The first photo is of the historic entrance, which is now fenced off -- from this opening you descended by rope.  The second photo is of the newer entrance to our destination allowing you to walk in.  I hope this helps....

Your pictures all look familiar but I cannot pinpoint the exact location. I have a feeling you have not wandered far from home and are somewhere in the Wild Rose province.
