Alta, the biggest US player in the bicycle sharing market (with contracts in New York, Chicago, Columbus and other cities) is under new management—and a new name. The company's moving from Portland to NYC, has hired Jay Walder, an experienced transit system operator as its new CEO, and has changed its name to Motivate.
It's pledged to double the size of NY's program to 12,000 bikes this year, and is considering a bid for a program in Los Angeles. MORE
