'Humans of Paris' website shows faces of city

Marco Hazan, the man behind Humans of Paris

An 18-year-old law student has created a highly-popular Facebook site featuring the faces and stories of "real Parisians." Called "Humans of Paris," and modeled on the "Humans of New York" blog, it now has more than 2500 pictures and over 250,000 followers.

Marco Hazan, the site's creator, says that one of his goals is to break up stereotypes about Parisians. He told TheLocal.fr "People are always saying that Parisians are rude and won't talk to you, but that's not true. That's just a prejudice people have, people judge them before they know anything about them."

He's been putting all his spare time into the project, and hopes to be able to publish a book featuring some 400 pictures. The pictures appear on his page daily, with captions in both French and English. For more on the project, click HERE or to see the Humans of Paris, click HERE

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
