Gumbo's Pic of the Day, October 26, 2015: Birds Eye View, Gare Du Nord, Paris

I always enjoy seeing birds in nature, but even more interesting to me is how they adapt in the city. As I was people watching at Gare Du Nord train station in Paris, I noticed pigeons using this spot to see the crumbs people dropped. I slowly got close to take a photo, but the pigeon flew away just as I pulled out my camera. Just then though, another pigeon landed on that precious viewpoint and I took this shot.

Thanks for a great shot...I always love scenes where birds go about their business, treating our structures and statues as if they were "for the birds!" I always wonder what they think we're doing there...

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
