Bavaria: Pantless police demand uniform justice

In a protest over long delays in getting required uniforms and equipment, Bavaria's police union posted a video showing a pair of pantless police officers walking away from their patrol car.

In the video, the pair discuss in the car how long they've been waiting for equipment and then get out of the car to go on patrol. Although it was released on April 1, the union says it's no joke: 21 different bits of uniform are available only with waiting times of months, leaving some officers with no change of clothes, or wearing winter uniforms into warmer weather.

The union accuses the Ministry of the Interior of poor management, the ministry says supplies are limited from suppliers, and that some suppliers have left the business during the pandemic.

While the situation has not yet gone that far, Gumbo advises visitors that if they encounter a streaker in Munich they should check first for a badge before calling police.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
