Eleven thousand workers for LSG Sky Chefs and Gate Gourmet, the two companies that between provide almost all the food for American, Delta and  United,. Many of the workers earn minimum wage and do not have paid health insurance. Unite!, the union that represents them is asking for a $15 minimum wage and some action toward health insurance.

Because they are technically transport workers and are covered under the Railway Labor Act, they cannot legally strike until released by a Federal mediator declaring an impasse in negotiations.
