I think most folks who have been flying for a number of decades would agree that airline service is at an all time low.  An article in USA Today by Chris Elliott makes the point that the airlines are tired of their poor service ratings and now that they are profitable may focus on improving customer experience.  Here's the link to that article.

 

I mostly have dealt with polite airline staff but the companies themselves seem to want to suck every dollar from you that they can.  This is especially true of the US based airlines -- less true of most of the foreign carriers I've dealt with.  For example, charging $200 to change an airline ticket is ridiculous in my view.  

 

I am curious about others perspectives on this.  Are you satisfied with airlines level of service?  If not, how do you think they could improve?
