A great little travelogue of Jodhpur - there is a great feeling of provincial familiarity to the city, despite the massive vainglorious fort and palace building of past years. The Umaid Bhawan was apparently built as an aid project for an impoverished population, but any such charitable intent has evaporated in the rarified air of the exclusive hotel.
