Lovely pictures. I appreciate knowing the details too. My family and I spent a week in Prague and and enjoyed every slow day. We rented an Old Town apartment through VRBO and were happy with the quiet, rooftop location three minutes to the square but quieted enough not to feel pressed by tourists. A wonderful piece! I'm always struck by the contrast of Prague now vs when I spent time there in the late 1980's.

Every city has memorable buildings and unusual architectural details, but I can't think of another city with such a wealth and variety as Prague.

This is a continuation and conclusion of my blog on Prague.

 Prague (pronounced and spelled Praha on local maps) was a city I’d wanted to visit for almost 2 decades, ever since the Iron Curtain collapsed at the hands of the Velvet Revolution. Finally I was there.

Prague draws a lot of visitors these days, drawn by its picturesque historic center, its cultural elan, its beautiful river setting, its long and varied history...and maybe also just because everyone else is going.
