I haven't visited this great museum since it was in a wing off the old de Young in Golden Gate Park. I think it's about time I visited again and can make it a pilgrimage to City Hall, too, where my grandmother worked for years as secretary to the Board of Supervisors. Thanks for this, Lester, beautifully done.

Some of us need to go out well beyond two months to be sure we get the time off we want (especially popular vacation times like Thanksgiving or Christmas vacation). So I'm very much in favor of planning in advance. Of course this makes it hard to be responsive to great last minute travel deals.

There's something so appealing and soothing about visiting a Japanese Garden. I make a point of visiting Japanese Gardens if at all possible during my travels. This one is terrific!
