These train routes are popular because they make travel sense to consumers. That's why they're successful, and I'm all for improving these routes to provide even better customer service. Much of the Americas is too sparsely populated for train travel to be a viable option for most, and it generally is much less consumer friendly than driving, especially over a short distance.
