Great thing about Europe, especially for travelers, are the many options they have for getting around. Train is often the best option for those going from the heart of one city to the heart of another. I'm glad to her this route is now open to people.

Flying any distance does give people some time to catch up with things like reading or editing photos. But if the connection were good and free or not too expensive, I think a lot of people would use the time to go on line and take care of business there. I probably would, too, although flying is one of the few times I'm actually "free" of the wired and wireless world.

This survey must have been among frequent fliers, which skews heavily to business travelers. Personally I have never used wi-fi on a plane, and I don't plan to. My ipod, kindle and whatever movies they have are fine for me.

Egypt’s train services are about to receive a major boost with two new initiatives in progress. New trains built by a Russian-Hungarian consortium are joining the existing network and a brand new high-speed train line will be built, all adding up to a vastly improved experience for tourists who like to travel by train. Egypt was the site of Africa’s first railway in 1854 and although there have obviously been numerous upgrades since then, the network is starting to show its age. Accidents...

For many travellers, Egypt has been for years a one-trick pony; up and down the Nile by one means or another covered 99% of tourism until the Red Sea and Sinai started to develop resorts. This will undoubtedly expand work opportunities in the major industrial centres for the burgeoning young population.
