Do you love large resorts, with thousands of rooms and lots of amenities? We've got good and bad news for you.
The good news is that a 10,000 room luxurious hotel complex is scheduled to open in 2017. The bad news is that you're unlikely to be able to get a room there because it is being built in Mecca and, as we've discussed before on this site, you're unlikely to be able to get a visa to visit Saudi Arabia.
Abraj Kudai — which will be the world’s largest hotel complex — will feature 12 towers with 10,000 total rooms and cost about $3.5 billion. The buildings will feature 70 restaurants, rooftop helipads, entire floors built just for royalty, and a convention center. Ten of the 12 towers will be rated as four-star establishments, the other two will provide five-star accommodations.
