Where in the World is TravelGumbo? (#108)

Gumbo's left the vast desert of the southwestern United States and traveled to this place of culture and sophistication. Lovely, isn't it? But this image contains just a small part of this enormous and very special destination. Do you recognize it?

More clues will be following, especially if you play along.

Time for our first clue.

It is a museum, although it was not originally constructed or used as one.

Any ideas? If not, another clue tomorrow.

I'm thinking that the building is the Musee d'Orsay? The room in the photo is the former Grand Ballroom of the former train station, maybe?
