The Boss to play Rome's Circus Maximus (and Milan)

Here's an added attraction if you're planning to visit Italy this summer: tickets are available for Bruce Springsteen concerts in July, one in Milan and the other in Rome's ancient and famous Circus Maximus.

But it's likely not to be a cheap seat, because Rome authorities are expected to charge €200,000 for the use of the venue; they're still feeling the aftermath of the previous administration's decision to charge the Rolling Stones only €8,000 for a 2014 concert. The mayor and most of the city council of that period are gone, swept away in a financial scandal.

The former mayor argued that the low price for the stadium (famed for chariot race scenes in movies such as Ben Hur) was justified by the revenue the concert would produce for the city, but it's always hard to tell how much effect such events have.

Tickets for July 3rd in Milan and July 16th in Rome will be on sale soon; ticket information is on Springsteen's website
