Room with a View: Trying a Condo

If you follow my writing, you will have noted I have a theme going on in my Pictures of the Day: unusual accommodations.

I recently returned from a 3,000-mile, 19-day road trip and had fantastic accommodations—everything from mansions and a condominium to hotels housed in factories and train stations.

For my destination of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama, both communities on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, I wanted to be near the water and the views. And so, for the first time in 25 years, I searched out a condominum along the beach.

I found Crystal Towers through Young’s Suncoast Realty and Vacation Rentals. It was perfect for me: Located on the north side of West Beach, the complex offers sweeping views of Little Lagoon, as well as the Gulf of Mexico. The condo I stayed in had the Gulf view.

The furnishings and décor were beach chic, complete with washer and dryer, WiFi, well-appointed kitchen, free parking—and an air-conditioned skywalk directly from the complex to the beach.

I guess you’d say I broadened my travel accommodation horizon.
