Philly gets more Landline services

American Airlines and Landline are adding another pair of routes from Philadelphia;s International Airport, bringing travelers by special bus from regional airports.

The two new routes are to and from Wilmington, Delaware's airport, which is 27 miles from Philadelphia and to and from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, about 125 miles from Philadelphia, the longest Landline route yet. Landline already serves American passengers at Allentown/Bethlehem and Atlantic City, New Jersey. It's also had service to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, but that's ending June 5.

The service treats the specially-equipped coaches, decked out in airline livery, as if they were small jets making connections at the hub airport. Unlike some earlier connections, these routes include complete check-in and security at Wilmington or Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with passengers arriving airside at Philadelphia. Baggage is checked from or to the regional airport.
