"Pareidolie", Lisbon, Portugal

While we were exploring the riverfront around Praca do Comercio, we came across this rather interesting sculpture situated outside of Lisbon's City Hall in  Praca do Municipio.  It is entitled "Pareidolie" and was donated to Lisbon by its creator, Alexandre Hopare Monteiro (who has Portuguese ancestry).

Pareidolia is the tendency for people to impose meaning to a nebulous image.  For example, seeing several stars in the night sky and interpreting it as being the "Big Dipper", or even more imaginative, a bear.
