Nude nightclub hits locker-room snag

Got your attention, right?

Get Naked London, a basement clothes-optional club that was supposed to open last Friday evening, had to call it off for now because...oops! they suddenly realized they didn't have enough lockers for people to store their stuff. Nor enough security staff.

The club planned to operate every two weeks in the 'swanky basement' of The Takeover Club (not Takeoff...), and would have featured musicians, hula hoopists, nude serving staff and partyers invited to come "glammed up, semi-dressed or nude. Those looking to bare all are invited to be tastefully body painted.

The organizers promise to announce a new date, and possibly new location, by midweek.

It's not London's only recent naked venture; last summer a pop-up naked restaurant called Bunyadi opened for three months and built up a waiting list of 46,000 with wanting reservations to pay £60 for a naked meal. Others may have merely HAD reservations about the idea.

And across the Channel, Paris's City Council has given approval in principle for a nudist park in the French capital, where public nudity is now punishable by fines up to €13,000. But as France is a country with a wide range of nude beaches popular with visitors from Germany, Scandinavia and other countries, there's been a clamor for Paris to join it. No location has been set yet, but speculation is focused on a lake in southeast Paris.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
