Nov. 19, 2017: Castello Normanno, Aci Castello, Sicily

When the Normans invaded Sicily and took control from the Saracens, they created many forts to help control the sea access to key ports. One of those is Castello Normanno, near the city of Sicily. It is a beautiful square-shaped tower built out of the basalt rock from Mt. Etna.
