If you look at the picture above, you might think it is just an open field. But, if you are fan of the film Big, you recognize immediately, that this is where 12-year-old Josh came to the carnival and wished to be "big".
It is part of the Ross Dock picnic area of the Palisades Interstate Park. The park runs along both the top and bottom of The Palisades, the magnificent cliffs on the New Jersey side of the Hudson River.
From the Ross Dock area, you get a fantastic view of the George Washington Bridge, connecting New Jersey and New York. And if you look closer, you will find our second cultural icon:
There it is, tucked under the bridge—The Little Red Lighthouse, made famous in the children's book by Hildegarde Swift and Lynd Ward.
