Norway set for more Northern Lights

One of Norway's natural attractions will be more active and more attractive over the next few years as a cycle of high solar activity means the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, will be more visible and more frequent.

Several times already this year, the effect has been strong enough to make the phenomenon visible over almost the whole country, as far south as Oslo in the southeast.

The interaction of solar activity and solar winds that produce the colorful display runs in cycles of about twelve years, and a period of intense activity is expected over the next few years. Pål Brekke from the Norwegian Space Centre told public broadcaster NRK that "we have passed the minimum inn the waver valley we have been in and are halfway to the maximum, with good years ahead."

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
