If you have trouble making up your mind, or don't have a bucket list, Lonely Planet grabs a bit of headline space each year with a list of its 'Top Ten' places to go, chosen by polling its editors and experts.
The guidebook-and-website publisher likes to go a bit outside the box with their recommendations, so there are always likely to be new possibilities. It also breaks its lists down into top cities, countries, regions and good values. For 2019, the top choices are
