Lemons to Lemonade: BA's 'Brexit sale'

With the British pound dropping sharply compared to the U.S. dollar, British Airways has posted under-$700 round-trip fares from the U.S. to London from New York and other U.S. cities.

The ad plays on the economic shake-up following Britain's vote to leave the E.U. with the slogan that "Your dollar has never gone further, and with our amazing 3-day sale you can see even more of London." Predictably, some British critics have suggested the sale (which is open only to U.S. residents paying in U.S. dollars) is in bad taste.

While the sale is on, tickets for Aug. 23 to Dec. 14 and Jan. 9 to May 31 are available. New York fares are $639, with higher-but-under-$700 rates from Baltimore, Chicago, DFW, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington. There's a weekend supplement of up to $50.
