While on a recent trip through the Mid-West my husband and I found ourselves near Blue Earth, Minnesota and the Jolly Green Giant statue. We weren't very far, so definitely wanted to check it out as well as the Giant Museum. I will share more of the museum on a later post.
For now, I wanted to share that the statue is 55.5 feet tall, and his fix foot long feet fill size 78 shoes, lol. He has stood in Blue Earth since he was bolted to his eight-foot-high base on July 6, 1979. The base is complete with a staircase so that visitors could pose for snapshots between his legs. Gene went up there, but you can hardly see him in the pictures, lol. If you are driving through the area, it is definitely worth the stop to see this interesting road side attraction.
