Jean Case elected Chair of National Geographic Society

The National Geographic Society has elected Jean Case its Chair. It's the first time a woman has been elected as head in the Society's 128-year history. She was a senior executive at AOL, and is now the CEO of the Case Foundation,  a social impact organization she co-founded with her husband, Steve Case (AOL's co-founder).

Jean Case has been active with the National Geographic Society for over a decade and on the board since 2010. That involvement led her to a hike in the Himalayas of Bhutan, diving in the reefs off the islands of Palau and observing mountain gorillas in Rwanda. She is planning a trip to Antarctica in 2017.
