In a move that will probably be popular with the Instagram and selfie generation, Italian tourism authorities are waymarking a series of beauty spots with signs designating them 'Romantic Zones,' where 'Kissing is Obligatory.'
Of course, no one will be jailed for refusing to display public affection, despite the requirement; the goal is to encourage good feeling, and lots of visitors and lots of publicity. Some of the areas also have camera spots, suggesting where to stand and which way to point the camera.
The one in the picture above is at Anacapri, on the island of Capri. Others can be found in Trentinara in Campania, in Sperlonga, between Rome and Naples and by the time you read this, probably even more spots.
