Gumbo's Pic of the Day, May 20, 2015: Bow River, Alberta

While I was in Banff I visited the Banff Springs Hotel.  Just a short walk from the hotel is The Bow River and the Bow River Falls.  The Bow River begins in the Rocky Mountains and winds through the Alberta foothills to Calgary where it takes in the Elbow River at the historic site of Fort Calgary near downtown.  It then continues onto the prairies where it meets the Oldman River, the two then form the South Saskatchewan River. These waters ultimately flow through the Nelson River into Hudson Bay - kind of impressive really that water from the Rocky Mountains ends up in the Hudson Bay!
