Gumbo’s Pic of the Day, March 13, 2015: Postcards from Morocco - the boys in the souk

I spent a couple of days photographing in the old oasis town of Tinejdad, south of the Atlas mountains in Morocco, before continuing on to the edge of the Sahara. Tinejdad is very much the traditional large kasbah -  a large fortified and defensible building with high walls enclosing a village of dwellings. The dusty interconnecting passages between the houses within the kasbah were a veritable rabbit-warren of passages which were a great challenge for low-light photography.

As I was blithely snapping away at my various shots, I became aware that I had become the subject of entertainment for a couple of young lads whose game was to peek round the corners of the passages in the hope of catching me off-guard!
