During our first day in Buenos Aires, while on a tour of street art in the city, we came across this scene while waiting for a traffic light to change. It was early afternoon, about 1 pm, and this waiter was standing in the door of his restaurant, clearly bored. With only one patron to serve, I guess this is understandable. Portenos usually have a huge late (after 10 pm) dinner and don't eat a big breakfast or lunch, but this is light traffic by any standard.
I never talked to the man, nor will I ever see him again. But I do remember thinking, "I'm glad I enjoy my work more than he seems to".
