Farewell flight for the Berlin Airlift

 

Yes, that's a pun, but it's also a sad farewell for the amazing flyer above. It's a hot-air balloon modeled on Berlin's iconic Brandenburg Gate, and it's being retired because the fabric is worn out.

The farewell flight took place at Bad Sassendorf, Germany on August 18th. It was originally created for celebrations in 1990 of Germany's reunification.
