EasyJet: No Direction Home

We doubt EasyJet was thinking of the line from Bob Dylan, but it's essentially the situation they left hundreds of holidaying passengers in by cancelling a month's worth of flights back to the UK from Egypt.

The cancellations come as the UK heads back into lockdown for four weeks. The airline notified t he passengers that they had three options, the first of which—"Switch to another flight for free. You can change onto any EasyJet flight yourself via Manage Bookings" seems pointless, since there are no flights. The second and third choices were to accept a voucher or a refund.

What the airline didn't tell passengers is that under EU air passengers' rights, which still apply to the UK until January, they are entitled to fly home on other airlines at EasyJet's expense. Once complaints started to roll in, EasyJet had a different answer: Head home now before our flights stop.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
