Dutch festival beats the bots

For any of the many who have wanted to attend festivals or concerts and found that huge blocs of tickets have been snatched up by automated systems and offered for resale at inflated prices: This one's for you.

Organizers of this year's Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands, set for August, found that nearly 10% of the 65,000 available tickets had been reserved by bot buyers within minutes of going on sale—and canceled the reservations.

The canceled tickets will go on sale again Saturday, with sales limited to real people. Still not cheap, though: the tickets for the three-day event are priced at €325 this year, up from €300 last year and €250 the year before. Scheduled acts include The Sugababes, Goldband, Jungle by Night and Queens of the Stone Age.
