Dublin Airport adding more buses

While airport news usually features new routes and more planes, Dublin's airport is promising more buses, with a seat available for anyone arriving or leaving the leading Irish airport.

The goal is to reduce private car traffic to and in the airport, for environmental as well as traffic reasons. Buses are the main transit option for Dublin, since there is no rail connection, although a plan to build one was approved last summer, connecting the airport to the existing rail network.

The airport is already Ireland's largest bus hub, with services not only to the Dublin region but to destinations in all 32 counties, south and north. New bus services have been approved that will take the total from 900 buses a day to 1,000 this year and 1,200 next year, for a total of 35 million seats a year.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
