Denmark: A bridge not far enough

Esbjerg, Denmark has moved closer to its goal of being able to drive across the Kongeåen Canal...closer, but not quite there, by just over a metre. The new bridge they ordered has a gap in the middle.

“We ordered a bridge to go from one side to the other. It doesn’t do that, and how [the supplier] solves that is their problem,” a town official told local media.

“Someone didn’t measure correctly, but both advisors and engineers have promised us that it will be ready for the opening... There should be a solution ready by then, but whether it will be a permanent or temporary one, I can’t say,” he said. The bridge is scheduled to open Sept. 22nd.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
