China sees big rise in domestic tourism

Despite a big dip this year, as has been the case everywhere, China is looking for big new numbers in its domestic tourism market, predicting 10 billion tourists and $1.53 trillion in spending by 2025.

Those numbers are a sharp rise from about 6 billion and about $1 trillion in 2019. Those tourist numbers are, of course, much higher than China's 1.3 billion population; they are actually the number of domestic trips and tourism activities taken by the population.

In addition to the domestic travelers, China counted up 145.3 million international visitors entering China last year. Tourism has become an important component of China's economy, and a report from the China Tourism Academy predicts that it will represent a steady 10% of the economy.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
