Canada acts on US lifetime ban on Canadians who smoked pot

Canadian Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale  said on CBC's " Power and Politics" that  they have to address, with US counterparts, the "ridiculous situation" of Canadian citizens receiving lifetime bans from entering the US for admitting they previously smoked pot when asked by the US Customs and Border Protection service.

Minister Ralph Goodale was responding to questions about Matthew Harvey, who is banned from entering the US because  he admitted to border guards that he smoked marijuana after the age of 18 and before he'd received his  medical marijuana license.
