Bright Brussels, the city's annual light show in February will be a bit different this year; it's focusing on its Art Nouveau architectural heritage and on light artists who are working in energy-efficient lights.
The show fits with the city's year-long focus on the 130th anniversary of the Art Nouveau movement, and will light up buildings in the Quartier Royale and the European district as usual, as well as adding a new venue, the commune of Schaerbeek.
The four-day event will light up each night from 7 pm to 11pm, featuring A20 poetic, hypnotic or kinetic installations focusing on offsetting its carbon footprint. "The Brussels light festival only selects artists who are ecologically responsible and work with energy-efficient lighting," organizers say.
