Boeing's 'ghost-writing' in the sky

In a tour de force that's only apparent to those who track flight data, Boeing showed off its newest model, the 737 MAX by flying a 9-hour endurance flight in the form of the word MAX, over 600 miles long and 170 miles high.

The writing, matching the logo font used for the plane's ads, involved over 3400 miles of flying to form the letters over the states of Washington and Montana.

Boeing spokesman Tom Kim confirmed the test flight to USA Today:"We did conduct a roughly 9-hour test flight over the weekend. It's just one of the many tests we're doing to validate the 737 MAX's industry leading range and reliability."

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
