Berlin: Panda-monium for twin cub debut

Twin panda cubs born in Berlin's Zoo last August have now made their darling debut before a crowd of adoring reporters, photographers and eventually likely millions of everyday visitors. Because when it comes to pandas, young is cute and twins is cute squared.

The two males, whose names were not revealed until their 100th day, following a tradition at least as old as China's program of lending pandas to foreign zoos, are Meng Xiang, meaning "long-awaited dream" and Meng Yuan, or "dream come true."

Their real moment of fame will come early next year when they have learned to walk; they will then join their parents in the zoo's Panda Garden for a four-year run. Under the program by which China lends pandas to zoos around the world, all cubs return home four years after they are weaned.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
