In case you were wondering what a 'stylophile' is, it's a pen-lover, especially one who loves the look, and the feel, of fountain pens.
I've been a fountain pen user for most of my life; I find the smooth glide of the nib across the paper soothing. When I try to write with a ballpoint, even the best of them, my hand tightens up and eventually cramps.
But these days, I mostly use inexpensive disposable fountain pens (yes, they exist!) because over fifty or sixty years of writing with fountain pens, I lost quite a few favorites, and hated the feeling.
But that doesn't stop me from being drawn into stores with good (and often expensive) selection, just to feel, and admire, and imagine what it would be like to have one again. This shop in Washington, DC, sucked me right in.
